The Project

 

Create a project that takes advantage of the new Spectacles AR device and shows what's possible with untethered, head-mounted Augmented Reality.

The Brief

 

Snap Inc. was looking for Lens Creators to build AR experiences that take advantage of their new Spectacles Augmented Reality glasses. Creators were given free reign to create anything they'd like, and Andre Elijah Immersive chose to make a ghost hunting game.

The Process

 

The first step involved in creating the project was to test the capabilities of the Spectacles device. Positional audio, image tracking, hand tracking, rendering capabilities, etc.

Once we had an understanding of the capabilities at our disposal we set out to prototype the experience and define the gameplay mechanics.

Once the game started to take form with placeholder assets, we started production of the 3D assets for the ghosts, as well as sound design, and incorporated those elements toward the end of the development cycle.

The Tech

 

The entire project built in Snap Inc.’s Lens Studio, while the 3D characters were created in Blender.
