 “WILL WE GET OUT ALIVE”

 THOUGHT PROCESS

The highlight and focal point of this NFT is the song:
  1. It’s written and produced by a legend.

  2. It has artistic value.

  3. It has significant earning potential.

  4. The song IS the central component of the art.

Therefore, we are using the song itself to drive multiple generative systems to create something truly unique. As much as we're creating the visuals that connect to the piece, they're literally being driven by Dennis' work and decisions.

THE WAVEFORM

We've broken the track up into multiple parts, about 16 bars in length each, and created a unique 3D model based on the waveform of each of these excerpts. These 3D models are generated based on a variety of sonic factors and each is unique from the next. Each is a piece of art that can help push along the visual piece, or be broken off as a unique Augmented Reality (AR) sculpture.

THE CITY

 ANIMATING THE CITY

Similar to the 3D soundwave, we created a procedurally animated, generative system that reacts to the song. This system moves any number of buildings that we design, or input according to a sample of music. In our case, we can scale, move, or rotate the buildings as we decide according to a number of variables.

NEXT STEPS

We’re going to be tuning the procedural animation systems to be less wild, and reign them in a bit. From there we’re going to start designing some streets from the Bronx, and fill them with characters generated from photos based on people from Dennis’ life. We’ll run our procedural systems on the different clips of the song and piece them together into one continuous video for the radio edit of the track, as well as multiple reactive AR waveform sculptures.

The hardest parts have been built though by way of the 3D waveform system, the procedural building animation system, as well as getting realistic lighting and rendering settings. The video will be exported at 4K resolution, with an internal render resolution of 8K at 24FPS for a more cinematic look and feel.
